About Us

We are a father-son team who both have a passion for transforming wood from its raw form into beautiful cutting boards and other products. We take pride from start to finish in this transition. Beginning by hand selecting rough cut hardwoods from local sawmills and hardwood distributors, laying out designs which will compliment each wood species to building and ultimately sanding, oiling and waxing each board.

I have been a hobbyist woodworker for about 36 years making many household furniture items such as a Couch, Side Chair with Ottoman, Coffee Table and Entertainment Center for the Living Room, Table and Chairs for the Dining Room, Corner Computer Desk and Sewing Station for the Family Room, Vanity and Medicine Cabinet for the Bathroom, Captains Bed and other furnishings for our home.
I retired in January 2020 but I’ve kept busy working with wood. I started making Cutting Boards for family and friends using various food safe hardwoods such as Walnut, Cherry and Maple. I personalized them by Laser Engraving them with the names of those I was giving them to. I received very positive feedback from everyone including encouragement to make and sell them as personalized gifts for wedding presents, housewarming gifts to new home buyers, anniversary and special occasion gifts. After several months of planning and working with Jared on ideas, designs and processes, we decided to become partners and
Wolf’s Wood Works llp was created. Together we visit saw mills and hardwood lumber distributors hand picking various rough cut hardwood species to work with. Back in my workshop we mill the rough cut boards and begin the process of turning them into cutting boards and other products. We hand select woods with interesting grain patterns and contrasting colors and character to be fit together into our final products. In addition to Cutting Boards we also make Cheese Slicers and Beverage Coasters. Coming soon will be Charcuterie Boards, Party Snack Trays and other hand made wooden items. We will be posting pictures on our website and other media pages regularly and highlight any new products we are making. We welcome the opportunity to talk to you about any special requirements you may have as well as invite you to visit our shop.

I found my love of carpentry in, of all places, theater. I have been working in the professional theater industry for nearly a decade helping construct scenery for plays and musicals at theaters like Hartford Stage, Goodspeed Opera House, Long Wharf Theater, and many more. Many of the skills I developed in my scenic carpenter career allowed me to pursue more fine woodworking endeavors as well, which I have found just as rewarding.
